When can I get off Cantha and go to Elona?
Here's the deal... I started off in Nightfall with a friend, then played a trial on Cantha and loved the Warrior/Assassin combo. So I bought Factions. Now, while waiting for Factions to arrive, I hear that you can't get a W/A in Nightfall even if you buy Factions! The only way to get a W/A is either to move one over from Cantha, or level until you're Ascended and then switch secondaries.
So, two questions: 1) Is it true that you can't take Assassin as your secondary profession at lvl 5? 2) If so, when can you go from Cantha to Elona if you start a W/A in Cantha (which city, and roughly what level)? Thanks! |

1) I think it's true, at least I don't remember having the option of an assassin when I made my dervish. Assassin and ritualist are Factions specific classes, therefore you can only create them in Factions either as primary or secondary in the beginning. Same thing goes for dervish and paragon, you can only make them in Nightfall.
2) You can get to Elona from Kaineng Center. Factions has the same kind of structure as Nightfall - there's noob island and then the mainland where the most of the actual story happens. Kaineng Center is on the mainland but it's easy to run there once you get to the other side. Luckily, you can pretty much play yourself there in a few hours if you don't do any side quests. As for your level, it all depends on how much help you get from guildies - if you do it alone, you will probably be about level 16-18 by the time you get to Kaineng, but with the help of friends you can get to Kaineng at about level 11-13. I'd suggest doing some side quests in Factions though, they give a lovely amount of exp and you can level up your heroes really fast by doing the quests you get in the mainland. EDIT: One thing I forgot to mention, it doesn't take too long to become "Ascended" in Nightfall. It happens pretty much around the time you go from Istani to the mainland. You'd still be able to play most of the game as a W/A if you switch secondary as soon as you can. Last edited by Perynne; Jan 17, 2007 at 07:25 AM // 07:25.. |

Awesome, thanks a ton. I'll probably just play as a pure warrior on Nightfall for a while, then, or maybe dabble in something else while waiting for ascension :P I'll probably go through Factions normally on a Ritualist or something, too.
Thanks again! |

Quote:
1) You own Factions. (I've never tried without owning Factions, but one would presume you would need to) 2) You've unlocked the Secondary Profession Changer in the Command Post OR have achieved the equivalent of Ascension in Nightfall (and going to the Great Temple Of Balthazar to change). Once you've done that, you can change your secondary to Assassin. You can then take your W/A to Cantha and acquire the Assassin skills there. |

Aha, I didn't realize you had to unlock the secondary profession changer. How do you do that?

Check GuildWiki for more specific information on unlocking the secondary profession changer: http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Secondary_profession
Basically it gets unlocked automatically when you get to the Command Post in the Sunspear Sanctuary. |
